Product Description
This rare colour changing tulip begins its life golden yellow and orange, with salmon-rose appearing as wild stripes or speckles that intensify and deepen with age. No two of these cup-shaped blooms look the same, and each one stands on a contrasting yellow-green stem with broad lance-shaped leaves. El Nino is a valuable spring variety which is best appreciated when planted in a large swathe in the border, to showcase the individuality of each uniquely blended Tulip. El Nino is ideal for a flower arranging enthusiast as the tri-blended petals exude an artistic feel. Don't forget that Tulips like to be planted late in October and November with the colder weather (it helps wipe out disease, too.) Plant bulbs pointy side up, 15cm deep and water well. Top quality 11/12cm bulbs supplied. Flowers April to May. Height 70-80cm.

Growing at a glance…
Tulip bulbs should be planted in autumn, before any frost. Find an area of soil that is well-drained and moist and plant your bulbs at twice their depth and spaced apart by 10-15cm. Ensure they are properly covered, you should not be able to see them on the surface of the soil. Position in an area that you know receives plenty of sunlight but is also sheltered from harsh winds. Deadhead the flowers once they wilt, encouraging a healthier plant.
