Product Description

The Clematis Double Season collection consists of two double flowering varieties. During the spring, both Piilu (light pink, illustrated on the left) and Temptation (darker pink, almost maroon) will produce enormous, ornate double flower heads with deeply coloured outer petals and delicate, ruffled clusters of inner petals. In summer, both will yield a second flush of flowers, blooming again with expansive and vibrant single headed flowers to create an array of brilliant long-lasting flowers. Overall flowering from March through to August to bring months of enjoyment. These hardy, versatile plants are also vigorous climbers and will happily scramble over walls, fences, pergolas and trees, making them the perfect way to create striking standalone floral displays. Piilu supplied as 30-40cm plants in 9cm pot, Temptation supplied as 30-40cm in 7cm pot.

Growing at a glance…

Clematis are vigorous climbing plants that reach various heights and spreads. Its best to prune back to keep control over the growth annually and initially they should be tied in to help direct the new growth. Apply a liquid fertiliser each yearduring the growing season, and water regularly during hot periods.Clematis can be planted October-May in areas with good drainage and plenty of sun is preferable. Soak in a bucket of water prior to planting and plant deep enough to allow plenty of room for root development. The roots of clematis like to be keptcool so it is a good idea to plant amongst low growing shrubs or bedding plants. If planting in containers, ensure the pot is large enough to allow the roots to expand/develop, as limitation of roots will certainly impede future success.
