Growing at a glance…
Erythronium, also known as Dog's Tooth Violets, are a classic woodland bloom. This means that they thrive in shaded areas, whether it's partial or full shade, like under a tree or bush. Ensure the soil they're grown in is well-drained but remains moist throughout its growing period. These spring blooms are grown from bulbs that look like dog teeth, hence their name. Plant them with the shoot facing the sky, about 10cm deep. If storing, ensure you mist the bulbs regularly to keep them moist (but not wet or soggy).
