Product Description

These impressive double flowering hardy Delphiniums are a unique variation on the standard varieties. With their eye-catching spires of colourful flowers, they are the perfect addition to the summer garden where they can be added to borders or containers. A great choice for those looking to create a cottage-themed garden, the huge ruffled frilly flowers bloom in June and grow to an impressive height of 80-100cm on sturdy free-standing spikes. They can also be used as part of cut-flower display with either one or in a combination of colours to create more of a feature. Bred in Glasgow, they are more robust than other Delphinium varieties where they can withstand harsher growing conditions. Within this incredible collection you will receive one of each variety: Morning Sunrise (white), Sweet Sensation (midnight blue), and Flamenco (pink). First grade loose rooted plants supplied.

Planting Notes

Soil Type Fertile, well drained soil.

Growing at a glance…

Do not allow the ground to dry out in the summer and water regularly during the flowering period to help prolong their blooms. Delphiniums are able to tolerate most types of garden soil. Plant in prepared (well-drained) soil, in full sun or partial shade. Soak roots in a bucket of water for 1-2 hours before planting. Dig a hole in the border that’s big enough to house the root system. Plant in groups for a fuller display, usually in groups of 3, somewhere that gets plenty of sunlight. Ensure the crown is just below the soil unless the plant has some leaves, in which case leave them exposed with the rest of the root system under the soil. Water well once planted.
