Product Description

Breathe some life back into tired September borders with the fiery Nerine Corusca Major. This vivid, late flowering specimen is guaranteed to inject a flash of colour to the garden at a time when other plants arebeginning to fade, and makes a striking alternative to traditional pink varieties. Also known as the 'Nerine Lily' due to the shape and form of its blooms, this particular Nerine produces strap-like foliage and an abundanceof vermillion flowers atop slender, surprisingly robust stems. Native to the inhospitable plains of South Africa, Nerine Corusca Major thrives in full sun and freely draining soil, and is as well suited to patio pots and containersas it is to beds and borders. It also makes an arresting addition to cut flower displays and bouquets, so be sure to plant in excess to ensure that there are enough to be enjoyed indoors.Grows to a mature height of 50cm, top size 12cm+ bulbs supplied. Requires frost protection over the winter.

Growing at a glance…

Nerines prefer to be planted in a sunny position, in fertile/well drained soil. They are ideal for potting up and can be introduced to the garden in April. As they are not completely hardy, we recommend to plant in pots, keep in frost-proof place and remove in to the garden in late April. Can be watered freely when growth begins to appear but should be held back when the bulb is dormant.
