Product Description
This vibrant and colourful mixture of double-flowering Hollyhocks are the perfect addition to the British summer garden. These hardy perennials offer beautiful flowers that stand against strong stems in a vertical habit. Easy to grow, they reach a mature height of 1.8m and so are excellent for planting at the back of border to add that extra colour and depth to the garden. Flowering from June through to September, they are excellent pollinators attracting butterflies and also make wonderful cut flower displays to be enjoyed in a vase. Thanks to Victorian Smog they were a shining beacon of loveliness. Now, due to our thankfully more sulphur free air they will require a little care, as like roses they are quite susceptible to rust, a fungus that has a rusting effect on the foliage. UK-grown 5cm module plants supplied.
We guarantee our great value mixture packs contain a comprehensive blend of variety and colours. By definition the components of the mixtures are not labelled/named on arrival.

Growing at a glance…
Water Alcea freely during the growing season and deadhead as necessary to help prolong growth. They are suitable for planting in all types of well drained garden soil, and work best once planted in a sunny or lightly shaded location. To plant, dig a hole in the border that’s big enough to house the entire root ball. Do this until the top of the soil from the module is just below the top of the pot. Fill around the modules with soil and firm them down gently.
