Product Description

The definitive English desert apple, excellent aromatic flavour. 'Cox's Orange Pippin' is a red tinted apple with firm juicy flesh that can be enjoyed eaten fresh or is great for juicing. The fruit ripens in October and is ready to pick when the fruit easily parts from the spur if you give it a gentle twist. During April and May, the tree itself develops beautiful white flowers that attract butterflies and birds into the garden. We recommend planting in well-drained non-acidic soil in sunny areas of the garden where it will reach a mature height of 3 metres. This is a self-sterile tree so will need a pollinator. We have chosen to sell only group B and C varieties, so our entire range of apples will cross pollinate with each other to help you easily choose a partner. Dwarf root stock supplied.

Order any two or more large fruit trees for only £13.99 each saving £2 per tree.

Growing at a glance…

Young trees must be watered thoroughly and sprinkle with fertilizer each spring. You can also mulch in April with rotted manure or compost around the base of the trunk. They should be planted in well sheltered locations. They will blossom and flower in Spring and fruit is normally ready to be picked throughout Autumn.Apple trees are suitable for planting in most types of moderately fertile, well drained soil, although they do not like acid soil. If possible prepare the ground some time in advance of planting. Open out holes and plant with enough space toaccommodate the roots without cramping them. Plant in a sunny location as they do not prosper too well in the shade. Make sure that you plant with a stake, as this will be needed for at least five years to help support the tree. Begin weed control prior to planting and keep a clean ring around the plant (with a radius of approx 24inches
