Product Description

Clematis 'Multi Blue' is a hardy perennial plant producing showy blue flowers that turn to a silver colour as it matures. The flowers begin to bloom from May to June and then re-blossom in August through to October. The central tepal also gradually expands as the flower matures that reveal the look of a fully double flower. These beautiful layered-looking flowers grow to 13cm in diameter and are ambitious climbers, therefore making them a great choice for adding colour up trellises, fencing or along walls. For those with less space, they can be planted in patio containers where the showy flowers will help to create a feature within the garden. These exquisite flowers are low maintenance and attract butterflies and bees into the summer garden. 9cm pot plants supplied.

Growing at a glance…

Clematis are vigorous climbing plants that reach various heights and spreads. Its best to prune back to keep control over the growth annually and initially they should be tied in to help direct the new growth. Apply a liquid fertiliser each yearduring the growing season, and water regularly during hot periods.Clematis can be planted October-May in areas with good drainage and plenty of sun is preferable. Soak in a bucket of water prior to planting and plant deep enough to allow plenty of room for root development. The roots of clematis like to be keptcool so it is a good idea to plant amongst low growing shrubs or bedding plants. If planting in containers, ensure the pot is large enough to allow the roots to expand/develop, as limitation of roots will certainly impede future success.
