Product Description

This giant flowering Clematis boasts beautiful, fragrant flowers with white petals lightly blushed with pale lilac-pink, blending to deep vibrant pink at the edges. It comes as no surprise that Clematis 'Omoshiro' gets its name from the Japanese word for 'interesting', with its gigantic flowers spanning a huge 15-18cm in diameter. We'd recommend planting against an arch or trellis for a traditional look. Alternatively, why not create more of a feature by planting against an arch or trellis for a traditional look. Alternatively, why not create more of a feature by planting the beautiful Clematis 'Omoshiro' in a patio container where it will flourish with structural help. These stunning flowers begin to bloom in May through to June and then again in September for another showy display. These striking flowers can reach heights of 2.5m if left to flourish but can be pruned to be more manageable. 30cm plants supplied in a 9cm pot.

Growing at a glance…

Clematis are vigorous climbing plants that reach various heights and spreads. Its best to prune back to keep control over the growth annually and initially they should be tied in to help direct the new growth. Apply a liquid fertiliser each year during the growing season, and water regularly during hot periods.Clematis can be planted October-May in areas with good drainage and plenty of sun is preferable. Soak in a bucket of water prior to planting and plant deep enough to allow plenty of room for root development. The roots of clematis like to be kept cool so it is a good idea to plant amongst low growing shrubs or bedding plants. If planting in containers, ensure the pot is large enough to allow the roots to expand/develop, as limitation of roots will certainly impede future success.
