Product Description
A spectacular autumnal gem, Cornus 'Kousa' var chinesii is a striking variety of Dogwood that produces stunning deep forest green bushy leaves that transform in autumn to rich bronze, orange and crimson shade lasting into the winter. This hardy shrub produces dazzling green flowers in June, with pretty snowy-white bracts that circulate around it, turning to a rich pink as they mature. Strawberry-like deep pink fruit then follows the flowers, making this a great shrub to have in any garden with its constant transformations. A beautiful slow growing shrub with Japanese origins, it will take about 10 years to reach a height and spread of 4m and is best grown in partial shade. 40-50cm plants supplied in either a 3 litre pot or a rootball.

Growing at a glance…
The cornus (dogwood) is an amazing and unique addition to any garden display, as it will produce wonderfully colourful shoots in winter. Will thrive in full sun or partial shade, and require little pruning, though you can prune back in mid-spring to help keep a comfortable shape. Make sure they get plenty of water in the dry season. Suitable for planting in most types of soil, and if you have the space then we recommend that you plant in groups of three for an even spread.
