| Planting Growing Instructions | |||||||||||
| Plant in fertile, well drained and moist soil. Acer shrubs prefer sunny or partial shaded areas, and can also be grown in pots. If growing in pots make sure that the pot is large enough to support the shrub and that it also has plenty of drainage holes. Use John Innes compost if planting in pots. |
| Cultural Instructions | |||||||||||
| Acers should be watered on a regular basis, which will be even more important in hot Summers. Although its not necessary, you can prune back or cut dead wood in Spring. |

A very pretty shrub, not very sensitive for soil and water conditions than some other. I have it in rather a lot shadowy spot, very close at the fence-wall, and around they are higher shrubs (Mahonia ‘Winter Sun’ and Sambucus nigra ‘Black Lace’ which contrast with the Maple beautifully) and despite of all, the shrub is after 3 years more than twice larger. The branches grow rather long and maybe the shrub could be cut to get it more compact. Especially in the shadowy spot the Maple gives nicely sunny light impression.
