Freesia Single and Double Mixed Collection

Single and Double Flowering Freesia

Freesia Single and Double Mixed Collection

OUT OF STOCK
The single and double mixed pack of Freesia are bound to bring interest to your garden this summer. A cottage garden favourite, Freesia are deciduous perennials with trumpet or funnel shaped flowers that are usually scented. They stand on upright stems with narrowly lance-shaped leaves. Freesia grow wild in the Cape Province of South Africa - so we tend to think that growing them here will be difficult, but this simply isn't true. Plant in a sunny area in well-drained soil, making sure to check every now and then that they aren't getting too much moisture. These maintenance checks are a small price to pay, in return for the gloriously sweet (but not sickly) fragrance of the Freesia come June. Red, yellow and white Freesia produce the strongest scent, so you can customise the strength of the perfume of your bouquets. We recommend planting Freesia at intervals of 7-10 days to get a continual display of flowers throughout summer, and perhaps more than usual as you won't be able to resist bringing these flowers indoors. Try planting in pots with ground cover shrubs to fill out displays and add more interest to your single and double Freesia. Top quality 5-6cm corms supplied. Flowers May to October. Height 45cm.
