Tulip Praestans Shogun
Tulipa
OUT OF STOCK
Four to six showy fragrant blooms are produced on each spring green stem, in a lively shade of tangerine orange. Broad lance-shaped leaves provide a complementary backdrop for this cheerful multi-headed tulip. As great naturalisers, you will see these tulips multiplying year after year, making them excellent value for money. We recommend mixing Shogun with Yari in the border, for a lively hot themed display celebrating the coming of spring. If an understated, simple display is more your style, we recommend two matching pots of Shogun flanking an entry-way. Why not plant a few more than you need, for cut flower displays? Don't forget that tulips like to be planted late in October and November with the colder weather (it helps wipe out disease, too.) Plant bulbs pointy side up, 12cm deep and water well. Top quality 10-11cm bulbs supplied. Flowers March to April. Height 25-30cm.

Soil Type
Well drained garden soil |
Plant bulbs in well dug soil about 8-10cm deep and approx 15cm apart. It is often beneficial to use a little bonemeal or super phosphate mixed in with the soil. Tulips delight during their growth in a sunny location.
After the tulips have bloomed and when leaves fade and turn brown the bulbs can be lifted, dried, cleaned and stored in a cool place until planting time. Tulips should not be grown in the same soil for several years, so replace with fresh soil every other year.
