They may be small, but winter flowering heathers more than make up for it by flowering all winter long until spring. Heathers originate from the Highlands in Scotland and are classified as low growing evergreen shrubs. They are low maintenance, thriv ing in similar conditions of sunlight, water and soil, and are excellent for ground cover. Masses of tiny flowers bloom in a range of vibrant colours, from white to rose to deep purple, and their foliage is small and insignificant which allows the fl owers to steal the show. Plant several varieties en masse on a slope, and an Impressionist's landscape will seem to burst into life. Flowering December-February. Each collection of five contains one each of White Perfection (white), Kramers Rote (red ), J Porter (pink), Darley Dale (lilac) and Golden Starlet (white flowers and yellow foliage). 5cm plug plants supplied.
