Product Description
Soaring towers of double and single ruffled flowers appear on the same stems to make Alcea or 'Hollyhocks' a fascinating variety that are a little piece British gardening heritage. The flowers bloom from July through to August and sit along strong stems amongst green foliage that really make the flowers stand out. Reaching a mature height of 2m, they make an excellent choice for adding colour and character to the border that will also invite pollinators such as butterflies and bees into the garden, helping to add to the cottage garden appearance. We recommend planting in well-drained, fertile soil where they will thrive in sunny or partially shaded areas. The collection includes one of each variety: Peaches 'n Dreams (pink-peach), Creme De Cassis (white with raspberry ripple effect) and Bridal Bouquet (pure white). First grade loose roots supplied.

Growing at a glance…
Water Alcea freely during the growing season and deadhead as necessary to help prolong growth. They are suitable for planting in all types of well drained garden soil, and work best once planted in a sunny or lightly shaded location. To plant loose roots, soak them in a bucket of water for 1-3 hours before planting, then dig a hole in the border that’s big enough to house the root system. Firm in gently and water well.
