Product Description

The Amaryllis Belladonna, are commonly known as Jersey Lily, Naked Ladies and Belladonna Lily. They are showy bulbous perennials that naturalize in many Mediterranean climates, and are especially popular in California. Clusters of soft pink, 10cm funnel-shaped blooms sit on top of long purplish-red and green stems, with up to twelve flowers blooming from just one stem. The Amaryllis Belladonna is unusual, as it flowers before its leaves appear, hence the nickname 'Naked Ladies'. Belladonnas naturally appears amongst rocks; therefore it is best you place them in a rock garden in full sun. We recommend planting with Agapanthus, which will provide fullness around the Belladonna's bare stems, and will provide a pretty contrast. The Amaryllis Belladonna is extremely easy to grow and requires very little attention, a winner of the RHS Award of Garden Merit that is highly fragrant. Top quality 18/20cm bulbs supplied. Flowers September - October. Height 60cm.
