The intensity of Anchusa Loddon Royalist's deep cobalt blooms is rarely seen in nature, making it an exquisite addition to the late summer bed or border, also adding drama and depth a cut bouquet. This upright perennial reaches heights of up to 1m, and produces unusual bristly foliage in addition to its flowers which appear from June to August and are particularly attractive to bees. As well as being highly decorative, the flowers of Anchusa Azurea are also elible, and can be added to salads or set into ice-cubes for a colourful summer treat. At full height it may benefit from some support. First grade loose root plants supplied.
