Carefully furled buds unwrap into rare pure white flowers with shell-shaped petals, that sit upon slender stems. Cyclamen Hederifolium Alba is a welcome guest to the garden at the end of summer, when most other flowers are looking more than sorry for themselves. The Cyclamen Hederifolium Alba has a long flowering period before disappearing over the summer - but not without leaving behind a pretty carpet of heart-shaped marbled leaves. Originating from the Mediterranean, it comes as a surprise that these plants are equally happy to grow in shade as they are in sun. At Parkers we recommend using Cyclamen to create a woodland look in your garden. Try planting at the base of a deciduous tree, with evergreen ferns and other shade-tolerant plants. While the Cyclamen is in dormancy, the fronds of ferns will create interest. Snowdrops are another good companion. Create a magical feel, with the ice white flower heads of the Snowdrop gazing down upon a carpet of Cyclamen. Top quality 10-13cm bulbs supplied. Flowers August to October. Height 8-12cm.

Well drained soil

Cyclamen corms can be planted at approx 5cm deep and 15cm apart, in fertile well drained soil. They prefer to be located in areas that are fairly sheltered.
They are perfect for naturalising if left undisturbed. They often take time to establish themselves in new environments and may not necessarily flower in the first year. Apply a leaf mulch annually to help protect from frost.
