Product Description

A superb vibrant looking fruit, Gooseberry 'Hinnonmaki Yellow' is a popular traditional variety that produces an abundance of green-yellow fruit with a fresh and tangy flavour. The fruit grows on hardy bushes that reach a mature height of one metre with bushy foliage. Also known as Rubus uva-crispa Hinnonmaki Yellow, this plant produces heavy crops that are ready for harvesting from June to July where the fruit can be eaten fresh or used within pies, jams and crumbles. Easy to grow, the shrub will require little maintenance such as pruning back in the winter for the following year. We also recommend placing netting over the fruit to deter birds from reaching the fruit first. Plant in sunny areas with fertile soil in patio containers, garden borders or allotments. Supplied as bare rooted plants they can easily be planted on arrival in rows at around 1.5m apart.
