The English Iris actually originates from the Pyrenees. These were a popular group before the Iris Hollandia became widely available, but they are still hugely useful as they are hardier, later flowering and the foliage is rarely out of the ground until mid March. Its flat leaves develop in spring, and the flowering stems, about 50-60cm tall with two or three flowers, appear as the leaves die back. This mixture can include shades of powder blue, white, deep blue and purple flowers. 7/8cm bulb s supplied.
