One each of palmatum Ukigumo (white leafed) 2 Litre pot , Acer palmatum Seiryu (dark red) 12cm pot, Orange Dream (fiery orange-red leafed) 12cm pot. Japanese Maples are a must have ornamental garden plant. Synonymous with the highly artistic oriental garden cultivated in Japan, these are ideal for patio containers or in the border as their roots are compact and non-invasive.

Growing at a glance…
Acers should be watered on a regular basis, which will be even more important in hot Summers. Although its not necessary, you can prune back or cut dead wood in Spring. Plant in fertile, well drained and moist soil. Acer shrubs prefer sunny or partial shaded areas, and can also be grown in pots. If growing in pots make sure that the pot is large enough to support the shrub and that it also has plenty of drainage holes. Use John Innes compost if planting in pots.
