This impressive specimen yields a heavy crop of fruit during July and August as well as producing fragrant foliage which is highly attractive to bees and other pollinators. Known by nutritionists as a so-called 'super food', the humble blueberry has enjoyed a surge in popularity in recent years due to its health benefits which include supposed anti-aging, fat burning properties and high levels of vitamin C. Great as a potted plant for on the patio, the disease resistant and cold-hardy Blueberry Giant Patriot produces some of the largest and most flavoursome fruits of all blueberry varieties. They will thrive with regular nitrogen feeding and like regular doses of manure. They are self-fertile, but heavy crops are achieved by cross pollination between two plants.Blueberries will need to be planted in fertile, acidic soil (so plant with plenty of peat).
