Product Description

Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, this self-fertile variety is a number one choice in UK gardens, Cherry 'Stella' produces an abundance of sweet and delicious dark red high-quality fruit from late July. The trees are hardy, reaching a height of up to 4m with deciduous luscious green foliage. Magnificent white flowers will begin to bloom from April to May, encouraging pollinators such as butterflies into the spring garden, although they may need protection from any frost damage as this will impact the fruit crop. If you prefer to keep this tree shorter for smaller gardens, prune it down in October to your desired height. Two-year-old trees grafted onto dwarf Colt root stock supplied.

Order any two or more large fruit trees for only £13.99 each saving £2 per tree.

Growing at a glance…

Young trees must be watered thoroughly and sprinkle with fertilizer each spring. You can also mulch in April with rotted manure or compost around the base of the trunk. They should be planted in well sheltered locations. They will blossom and flower in Spring and fruit is normally ready to be picked throughout Autumn.Fruit trees are suitable for planting in most types of moderately fertile, well drained soil, although they do not like acid soil. If possible prepare the ground some time in advance of planting. Open out holes and plant with enough space toaccomodate the roots without cramping them. Plant in a sunny location as they do not prosper too well in the shade. Make sure that you plant with a stake, as this will be needed for at least five years to help support the tree. Netting shouldbe placed over the tree to ensure birds do not damage the trees.
