A magnificent collection of large-flowering hybrid Clematis that will create a fusion of delightful colour to your summer garden. These beautiful flowers have eye-catching blooms that look great when planted alongside each other to make a feature by growing along walls or up trellis to establish texture and character. Reaching a height of up to 4m, they can be cut to a more convenient height if needed, where they will flourish from May throughout the warmer months through to September. These fragrant flowers prefer to be planted in sunny or partially shaded areas within well-drained, fertile soil and are a perfect collection for welcoming pollinators, such as butterflies into the garden. Our collection includes one of each variety: Niobe (crimson), Tangutica (yellow), Ville de Lyon (red), Mrs N Thompson (purple/raspberry) and Miss Bateman (white). 9cm pot plants are supplied.

Clematis can be planted October-May in areas with good drainage and plenty of sun is preferable. Soak in a bucket of water prior to planting and plant deep enough to allow plenty of room for root development. The roots of clematis like to be kept cool so it is a good idea to plant amongst low growing shrubs or bedding plants. If planting in containers, ensure the pot is large enough to allow the roots to expand/develop, as limitation of roots will certainly impede future success.
Clematis are vigorous climbing plants that reach various heights and spreads. Its best to prune back to keep control over the growth annually and initially they should be tied in to help direct the new growth. Apply a liquid fertiliser each year during the growing season, and water regularly during hot periods.
