Product Description
Ficus carica, or the Fig Prolific as it is commonly known, is a deciduous shrub that produces some of the best, sweetest tasting figs on the market. A medium shrub, growing up to 1.5m in size, they produce lobed leaves and small flowers from the beginning of spring, followed by edible fruit in summer. Figs normally start as a light or dark green but are fully ripe once their actual colours change to purple. They are a great fruit to grow where they can be planted at the front of garden borders, allotments or placed within containers for gardens with less space. Figs are great for using within desserts or jam where they can be enjoyed after the harvesting season. We recommend planting in well-drained, fertile soil in sunny areas where they will thrive. Supplied in a 2-litre pot, at approx. 60cm+ on arrival, they can easily be kept compact if held as a rootbound shrub in a patio or container.
