Daphne mezereum Rubra (also known as February Daphne or Spurge olive) is a real winter flowering favourite which seems to flower when everything else is sleeping. It is a compact shrub which explodes into bloom with masses of intensely fragrant, beau tiful pink/purple flowers in clusters which smother the upright, bare branches from February to March. After flowering, attractive scarlet red berries will appear in profusion. Absolutely perfect for a shrub border or woodland/cottage garden. Perhaps not as sought after as the evergreen varieties, Daphne mezereum has the advantage of growing in most soils, including chalk or heavy soils. Mezereum Rubra is happiest in full sun or partial shade. Height 1m. Root ball plants supplied.
