Aptly known as the 'Burning Bush', Euonymus alatus is a striking deciduous shrub which provides the garden with a blaze of dramatic crimson come autumn. Originating from Japan and China, it has dense and bushy in habit with large, wing-like leaves which taper to points of up to 7cm long, and also produces small pale green flowers and reddish-purple fruits. The foliage of Euonymus alatus begins a deep bottle green before turning a startlingly vibrant red during the autumn months, adding a much needed flash of colour to the garden as summer brights are beginning to fade. 'Burning Bush' flowers August to September and reaches heights of 2m. Supplied as either loose rooted or pot plants.
