Hamamelis intermedia Jelena is a deciduous, winter flowering shrub which produces clusters of sweetly scented, coppery orange flowers on bare twigs, creating an unusual effect from December to March. In autumn, the bright green linear foliage turns to shades of yellow, orange and red, which complement the flowers perfectly. The flowering twigs create unusual indoor displays, we'd recommend planting in tall vases for a sophisticated look. The perfume will waft through the house. However, Hamamelis is happiest outdoors, where it will thrive in a sunny border - it looks especially at home in a woodland themed garden. We supply grafted (not seed grown) plants, which gives a dramatic improvement in quality/amount of flowers compared to seed grown plants, which turn out larger but with terrible flower performance. Height 3m. Root ball plants supplied.
