Bare-rooted plants and shrubs

We supply premium sized bare rooted shrubs and trees, for sizes please see individual items as this will vary. All bare rooted plants are grown on in a nursery field through the summer growing season and are then lifted (dug out) from the end of September when the plants naturally enter dormancy in preparation for the winter months. This is the perfect time to transport and transplant bare rooted plants. They are then root wrapped with moist material in preparation for packing and despatch to you along with other hardy plants you may have ordered.

Prepare the soil in advance and put the roots of the shrub in holes large enough so that they are not too cramped. Ensure soil is filled in firmly around the roots, and water regularly until the shrub has become established. For more information and advice, please see individual items as preferred growing conditions will vary greatly depending on the variety.
