Product Description
Baccara is a beautiful Hybrid Tea Rose variety that produces wonderful dark red layered petals making an elegant compact flower. Standing on a sturdy green stem that reaches a mature height of 90cm accompanied by large glossy foliage, these wonderful flowers are sure to add some glamour to your garden borders or patio containers. They will also make magnificent cut-flower displays for within the home. Highly fragrant, their deep maroon petals will fade to a luxurious red as the plant matures. We recommend planting in sunny or partially shaded locations in well-drained soil where they will thrive. Top quality, two-year-old rose bushes are supplied. Please note: Fragrant rose's perfume is usually the most potent on warm, sunny days, while sat in moist soil. Its important to imitate these conditions, as it will release the fragrant chemicals within the flowers. High humidity increases the longevity of the fragrance as it reduces the chance of the chemicals evaporating.

Growing at a glance…
Roses should be planted firmly, to ensure that wind will not disrupt the roots. Apply a balanced fertiliser every 3-4 weeks in the spring/summer, and apply a mulch in the winter for protection. It is best to plant roses in winter or early spring, provided there is little frost. To prepare your bare rose roots, soak them in a bucket of water for an hour to 24 hours (longer in spring). Then, dig a hole large enough to house the roots when fully outspread. Distribute the roots evenly around the hole and put in a little bit of fine soil to which has been added a small amount of bonemeal. Fill in with the rest of the soil over the roots and tread in firmly. The depth of planting roses will vary between 10-20cm, or as deep as they were in their pots. Our HT roses are supplied roughly pruned. To keep them healthy, prune stems at a 45 angle, taking off any dead wood or growth.
