Sarcococca hookeriana var. digyna 'Purple Stem' (commonly known as Christmas Box or Sweet Box) is an amazingly easy to grow, dense and reliable evergreen. It has slender, tapering shiny green leaves flushed bronze and produces sweetly fragranced white flowers tinged bright pink at the base from December to February. After flowering, Christmas Box produces an abundance of attractive black berries. New shoots are flushed with an attractive dark purple-pink hue which gradually fades as the stems mature. Excellent in partial shade, even in drier soils. Height 1.2m, spread 2m. 2 litre pot plants supplied.
