Product Description
Softly layered and romantic in form, Tulip ‘Princess Household’ produces full, peony-style blooms in warm shades of soft orange and apricot, often with a gentle tonal shift toward a slightly lighter base, giving a subtly blended effect rather than a single flat colour. Its flowers sit neatly on strong stems that are generally around 30 cm tall, held upright in a compact, orderly habit that keeps the display tidy and well-proportioned in borders or containers.
Flowering in mid to late spring, it performs best in full sun and free-draining soil, where its colouring is cleanest and the blooms open with reliable symmetry. The foliage is broad and blue-green, forming a low, unobtrusive base that fades smoothly into surrounding planting as the season develops, allowing later perennials to take over visually.
We recommend planting Tulip ‘Princess Household’ with Brunneras, Muscaris and Myosotis for cool-toned contrast, or with Nepetas and Heucheras for a softer, more blended border palette. Repeated groups create a cohesive spring rhythm, especially when planted among other mid-season bulbs for layered continuity.

Growing at a glance…
Tulip bulbs should be planted in autumn, before any frost. Find an area of soil that is well-drained and moist and plant your bulbs at twice their depth and spaced apart by 10-15cm. Ensure they are properly covered, you should not be able to see them on the surface of the soil. Position in an area that you know receives plenty of sunlight but is also sheltered from harsh winds. Deadhead the flowers once they wilt, encouraging a healthier plant.
