Hardy Geranium and Monarda

Geranium. In summer they are smothered in a mass of bright bold coloured flowers on dense and attractive silver grey foliage making a terrific addition to the border and great ground cover paired with taller plants. They are extremely hardy and will last long through the summer into Autumn to maintain an attractive display of colour as other plants fade. They’re also great for smothering and preventing weeds, making them a very useful addition to your summer border plants.

 

Monarda flower until early autumn, perpetually producing attractive flowers and mint scented aromatic folliage. Flowers are distinctively shaped with curving petals curving away from the centre for a shaggy spidery-effect. Plants are particularly useful as they can thrive in semi-shaded or even shaded areas where other plants may struggle. Deadheading is a must as it will allow monarda They are also attractive to bees!
