Alstroemeria

Alstromeria, sometimes referred to as the Peruvian Lily, produce clusters of Lily-like flowers in abundance on long strong stems in Summer and many varieties have lovely soft shades of colours with interesting marking, meaning these plants make excellent cut flowers and are great for pot displays. These are perfect for achieving an exotic late summer splash of beautiful colours in a compact size and style.

Eucomis (Pineapple Lily)

Jeff shows us how to plant Eucomis (Pineapple Lily) in pots for the patio in this easy to follow how to video.

These exotic looking plants are surprisingly easy to grow with some help from Jeff! Commonly known as the Pineapple Lily, Eucomis is an unusual but spectacular plant with blooms topped with a tuft of leaves. They can reach around 50cm in height and are great grown in containers as demonstrated by Jeff. They prefer a sunny location and should be sheltered during cooler weather.

Dwarf Gladioli

In this video Jeff walks us through how to plant Dwarf Gladioli, planting corms in a large pot.

Dwarf Gladioli nanus are an excellent choice for early flowering summer bulbs. They are a particularly attractive choice for the border with a beautiful array of colours and will make excellent cut flowers. They should be sheltered against severe weather conditions and lifted for storage over winter.

Freesia

Cannas

Cannas are an excellent perennial that will add plenty of exotic style and colour to your garden borders, beds or containers. They thrive in sunny areas and in late summer they will display some fantastically attractive foliage with large dark leaves, complimented by bright striking coloured showy flowers. They can be found in complimenting hues of orange, red, pink and yellow which make great summer bedding and will look great as part of your summer border or as an impressive patio display.

Nerines

Zantedeschia / Calla Lily
