Product Description
The Begonia Odorata is well-known for its highly fragrant flowers. Begonia Red Glory produces an abundance of vivid red blooms that cascade gently down the sides of hanging baskets and pots. A little more expensive compared to its lesser scented siblings - but well worth it for the combination of explosive blooms and enchanting summer fragrance. Their tubers can even be stored over winter and re-used year after year. Begonias prefer half-sun and a rich moist soil with good drainage. We recommend growing indoors first, and only planting outside once all frost has disappeared. Top size 5-6cm tubers supplied. Flowering throughout the summer until the first frosts. Height 35cm. Growing at a glance…
Plant your Begonia tubers in early spring, as long as all threat of further frosts has disappeared. Begonias are incredibly sensitive blooms and need to be protected from harsh cold weather. Tubers can be started indoors as early as February if the weather is too unpredictable. Plant hollow side up, 2cm apart and 2.5cm deep. When leaves begin to appear, plant outside in your desired spot that receives plenty of sunlight. Water regularly during warm and dry weather.
