Product Description

Hosta 'White Feather' is a distinctive selection valued for its rare white-emerging foliage and refined seasonal progression. In late spring, broad, heart-shaped leaves unfurl in luminous ivory, bringing exceptional brightness to shaded spaces. As the season advances, fine green veining gradually develops, creating a softly marbled effect that adds depth while retaining its light-reflective quality.

This clump-forming Plantain Lily develops into a neat, architectural mound suited to borders, woodland planting and patio containers. Its pale tones contrast beautifully with darker perennials and Ferns, enhancing texture and balance within a scheme. By mid to late summer, slender stems rise above the foliage, bearing lavender flowers with a subtle fragrance, adding gentle height and further seasonal interest.

Fully hardy in UK conditions, it thrives in moist, fertile, well-drained soil in partial to full shade. Plants establish steadily, returning each year with increased presence and providing enduring structure and contrast in sheltered settings.

Growing at a glance…

Water well after planting and regularly in their first growing season. Mulch annually in spring with a good layer of leaf mound or garden compost around the plant. Slugs love hostas so you will need to protect against them. Plant straight away on arrival in any fertile, well drained soil. These are young plants, so please leave in small pots for 5 to 6 weeks and then pot on into a larger 1.5 - 2 litre pot, or plant into final spot.
