Our Primula ‘Cottage Cream’ is a beloved primrose, featuring soft, clotted-cream petals with bright orange centres. These charming blooms create a subtle yet striking contrast that enhances your garden from late winter through to spring. Their delicate colouration makes them a perfect addition to borders and containers.
These compact, hardy perennials typically reach 15 cm in height and spread to around 20 cm. Thriving in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil, they prefer partial shade but will tolerate some sun in cooler areas. Ideal for cottage gardens, patio pots or the front of borders, they also provide a valuable nectar source for early-season pollinators.
For a refined spring display, we recommend pairing our ‘Cottage Cream’ with other early-blooming spring flowers, such as Narcissus or other Primulas, to create a striking contrast of colours. Plant them near doorways, along paths or across the front of mixed borders to enjoy their beauty up close.

Growing at a glance…
On arrival, give your plants a bit of water and sunlight. Pot on for 6-8 weeks to allow them to grow before planting outdoors. Alternatively, they can be planted out straight away in a weed-free container when there is no more danger of frost. Deadhead regularly to help encourage further growth of flower heads.
