  • Where to plant primula
    Your primula / primroses will be happiest in shaded spots with rich, moist soil, so they’ll work well in lots of different outdoor spaces – from woodland gardens, to cottage gardens, to city & court
  • Companion plants for primula
    You’ll need to pair your primula plants with other shade-loving plants that like growing in moist soil. Ferns, hostas and astilbes are perfect. For a joyful burst of springtime colour, plant your primula / primroses with daffodils, cyclamens and snowdrops.
  • Growing primula
    You’ll need to water your primula plants regularly if your soil is prone to drying out. They’ll do well in moist soil, but be sure to water them if you have a particularly dry spell. Deadhead to keep your primula flowering for longer and then cut back the foliage in autumn to encourage fresh growth the next year.
