Product Description

Empathy Bulb Starter with rootgrow is essential for long-lasting, healthy flowers - whatever the season! This bulb starter includes organic mycorrhizal fungi which helps to promote a healthy plant that lasts year after year. Micorrhizal fungi is a symbiotic organic matter that attaches to the roots of your plant. They then grow an external root system, which can spread up to 700 times more than the bulb's own roots. This helps them to absorb more water and nutrients from the soil than they would on their own! You only need to add these granuals once to a plant for a lifetime of vibrancy. Micorrhizal fungi is a natural additive that has given plants a helping hand for over 450 million years. It's completely organic, environmentally friendly, and lasts for the bulb's entire life. It's also easy to use, perfect for gardeners of any skill! Simply add some granuals to the bulb's planting hole before adding the bulb. Shake the bag well before use. 250g bag supplied.

Planting Notes

Growing at a glance…

Use 5-10g of granuals for small bulbs/corms or 10-20g for large bulbs/tubers. A palmful is roughly 10g. Sprinkle the Bulb Starter in the planting hole, then add the bulb. Make sure the bulb is facing the right way, usually with the tip pointing to the sky. Ensure the bulb is planted 2-3 times their depth in well-draining soil. Back fill the hole and water well. It's important to note that some bulbs, especially summer-flowering types, don't do well in the ground over winter. For example, it's often recommended to lift Dahlias and stored somewhere dry and frost-free until the following May.
