Product Description
With its highly fragrant double blooms of delicate, ruffled petals which merge into a deep golden centre, this cheerful Floribunda Rose certainly lives up to its name. The deserving winner of the Rose of the Year Award 2010, Absolutely Fabulous, also known as the Julia Child Rose, has a repeat flowering habit and excellent disease resistance, making it an unbeatable choice for the summer border. The cheerful yellow blossoms begin to flower in June through to September with each stem producing glossy, dark green foliage and a profusion of sweetly fragranced blooms. We recommend planting Absolutely Fabulous in a pot or border near a patio or path where its delicate aroma can be fully appreciated or cut to create an eye-catching floral display within the home. Top-quality two-year-old rose bushes are supplied that are ready to be planted on arrival. Please note: Fragrant rose's perfume is usually the most potent on warm, sunny days, while sat in moist soil. Its important to imitate these conditions, as it will release the fragrant chemicals within the flowers. High humidity increases the longevity of the fragrance as it reduces the chance of the chemicals evaporating.

Growing at a glance…
Roses should be planted firmly, to ensure that wind will not disrupt the roots. Apply a balanced fertiliser every 3-4 weeks in the spring/summer, and apply a mulch in the winter for protection. Can be pruned back to remove any dead wood or growth. It is best to plant roses in winter or early spring, provided there is little frost. To prepare your bare rose roots, soak them in a bucket of water for an hour to 24 hours (longer in spring). Then, dig a hole large enough to house the roots when fully outspread. Distribute the roots evenly around the hole and put in a little bit of fine soil to which has been added a small amount of bonemeal. Fill in with the rest of the soil over the roots and tread in firmly. The depth of planting roses will vary between 10-20cm, or as deep as they were in their pots.
