Product Description
Broad mid-green leaves with intricate scalloped edges provide a contrasting bed of foliage for these cup-shaped aubergine purple blooms with white margins. While already looking highly unusual, their individuality is enhanced by the fact that their petals and leaves feel like velvet. We recommend planting in pots for the patio, however the Gloxinia is so easy to grow that it is happy enough sat on the windowsill or in the conservatory. Top size 5cm+ tubers supplied. Flowers July to September. Height 50cm.

Growing at a glance…
Water freely during the growing season, so as not to let the soil dry out. Plant in Spring, in fertile and well-drained garden soil. Plant with the tubers facing downwards, and the stalk just underneath soil level. You can also pot on before popping outside in their final positions. This allows you to grow them under your watchful eye, and you can plant them outside once shoots appear in spring (as long as all threat of frost is gone).
