Product Description

Allium Globemaster produces massive spherical heads of aster violet that burst into bloom in mid-summer. The tightly clustered globe is made up of dainty start shaped flowers suspended atop a thick bright green 80cm stem. Globemaster holds the prestigious Award of Garden Merit and will come back better and better each year. A great tall addition to beds and borders, the beautiful curled green leaves will wither before the flowers appear in early summer so we recommend accompanying them with low-growing plants to provide filling foliage over the base areas. These will also make excellent cut growing plants to provide filling foliage over the base areas. They will also make excellent cut flowers to be enjoyed within the home. Giant 20cm+ bulbs supplied.

Growing at a glance…

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil at approx 10cm apart and at a depth of roughly 3-4 times the size of the bulb. Larger bulbs should be spaced 20cm apart. Leave untouched for a number of years until the bulbs have multiplied and divide if necessary. Smaller alliums can be grown in containers, but ensure it's large enough to space the bulbs an appropriate distance apart.
