Fothergilla major is an RHS Award of Garden Merit winner, producing white fragrant bottle-like flowers in spring before the foliage appears. This shrub's most striking feature is its foliage, in autumn it changes colour to varying tones of fiery-red, purple, orange and yellow creating a spectacular display of rich colour. This low maintenance variety excels when planted in a border and grown in sunny positions. Height and spread 2m. 25cm plants supplied in a 2 litre pot.

Prune lightly annually after flowering to remove any unnecessary shoots. Water regularly.It is best to plant in any reasonably good quality, humus rich garden soil (provided there is good drainage).
