Product Description
Vitis 'Himrod' is a tasty seedless variety that will produce an abundance of juicy sweet green, medium to large grapes in summer. Ideally plant in potting containers or within the front of the garden border where this hardy variety will flourish to a height of 2m in sunny and sheltered locations. They will also thrive in greenhouses, where the fruit can be eaten fresh, developed to make wine or used within culinary dishes. During the spring, pretty clusters of white flowers bloom that are then taken over by the delicious fruit. Once the fruit has finished cropping, the green foliage will turn to bright orange and purple hues that make this a wonderful plant to have within the garden display. They are ready to plant out on arrival with a little organic matter.

Growing at a glance…
Prune in grape plants winter to keep them at a manageable height and again in mid summer if necessary. They may require training as they grow, due to their climbing habit. The vitis (Grape) vines can be grown in well drained neutral or slightly alkali humus rich soil. They prefer to be located in a sunny position or in light shade. Seedless grapes are a natural mutation that prevents the young seeds from maturing and developing a hard coat. This is what is typically seen in supermarkets. However, even seedless varieties do sometimes produce small numbers of seeds, which allows new varieties to be crossbred.
