Perfect Plants for Pollinators

Planting for pollinators has become more prominent over the years and growing your favourite blooms with pollinators in mind has more of a positive impact than you might think. These busy bees and butterflies need a quick pit stop, and growing plants that help them on their way is just what their ecosystem needs to thrive.

Not only would you be encouraging pollinators by giving them a safe haven – your gardens will also benefit from the onslaught of colour that often comes with pollinator-friendly blooms and plants! Here are just a few of our favourites that will get your garden ready for summer.

Achillea

Pollinators absolutely love Achillea, also known as Yarrows. These flat-topped beauties are a popular option for wildflower gardens, especially if you are looking to create a more ‘unkempt’ look.

A traditional option for beds and containers, where pollinator friends will love. Ideal for planting anywhere in the garden, as long as they have full sun or are in partial shade. They’re also perfect for adding lots of colour!

Calluna

Calluna plants are perfect for year-round interest! Not only are they pollinators’ best friends, but they also are incredibly hardy and will give the garden colour throughout the year. Calluna, or Heathers, are a perfect pick for any container or at the front of the border as they reach mature heights of 40cm.

Digitalis

More commonly known as Foxgloves, Digitalis is another attractive option for pollinators. Their tubular flowers make for a perfect hiding spot for them to get their nectar, and their tall stature helps them to stand out in the back of the border.

Many are also highly fragrant, which makes them perfect for planting near doors and windows where you can truly appreciate their beauty.

Plants for Pollinators Collection

From Verbenas to Echinacea, these blooms will have your garden buzzing with bees and butterflies throughout the summer season.
