Product Description
Bring the colour and character of the famously eccentric Rose grower Harry Wheatcroft to your garden with this superb Rose of the same name. The blooms produced by the Rose Harry Wheatcroft truly are as flamboyant as their namesake, their petals striped with contrasting shades of red and yellow surrounding a high, ornate centre. This riotously colourful Rose also produces a profusion of glossy, dark green foliage which further emphasises the vibrancy of the flower heads. The Roses reach a mature height of one metre and flower from June through to September. These vivid flowers make excellent cut flower displays but can also be planted in the front of garden borders or patio containers where their sweet fragrance can be enjoyed. Top quality two-year-old Rose bushes are supplied. Please note: Fragrant rose's perfume is usually the most potent on warm, sunny days, while sat in moist soil. Its important to imitate these conditions, as it will release the fragrant chemicals within the flowers. High humidity increases the longevity of the fragrance as it reduces the chance of the chemicals evaporating.

Growing at a glance…
Roses should be planted firmly, to ensure that wind will not disrupt the roots. Apply a balanced fertiliser every 3-4 weeks in the spring/summer, and apply a mulch in the winter for protection. Can be pruned back to remove any dead wood or growth. It is best to plant roses in winter or early spring, provided there is little frost. To prepare your bare rose roots, soak them in a bucket of water for an hour to 24 hours (longer in spring). Then, dig a hole large enough to house the roots when fully outspread. Distribute the roots evenly around the hole and put in a little bit of fine soil to which has been added a small amount of bonemeal. Fill in with the rest of the soil over the roots and tread in firmly. The depth of planting roses will vary between 10-20cm, or as deep as they were in their pots.
