The Easiest Ways to Grow Your Favourite Spring Flowers - Bulbs & Beyond

Bulbs & Corms

Bulbs and corms are just one of the easiest ways to grow your favourite seasonal flowers. From Tulips to DaffodilsCrocus to Muscari, there's all kinds of blooms to grow from bulbs for a Spring display.

If you're new to growing bulbs, fear not! All you need is a trowel, your bulbs of choice, and somewhere to plant them. This could be a plant pot or a flower bed, either will do. To learn the in's and out's of growing bulbs, you can read our complete 'How to Plant Bulbs' guide for beginners.

Bulbs in the Green

Bulbs in the green are essentially the same as bulbs, just a bit further along in the growth process. We grow them so their foliage has just started to sprout, providing you with a bulb that can go straight in the ground for instant colour.

The planting process is the same as planting a bulb or corm, with the exception of ensuring the sprout is pointing up towards the sky.

Modules

Bedding plants like pansies and violas are grown from what are often known as 'modules'. These modules are essentially small plants in a tiny square of soil, grown by us from top quality seed.

Modules are one of the easiest ways of planting your favourite plants and flowers. Simply pop them out of their trays and into their desired areas of the garden. Make sure you dig them a hole big enough to hold the module, and fill the gaps with soil. Water well once planted firmly into place.

Potted Perennials

Like modules, potted perennials are easy to grow. These plants are grown and sent to you in pots of various sizes. They're basically just slightly bigger versions of a module, often with some foliage already emerging.

Follow the instructions for planting modules, and you can't go wrong.
