Product Description
A lovely sprawling perennial with small dark green leaves and pure white clusters of perfectly formed flowers in the summer. Also known as the 'bloody crane's-bill' for the crane like appearance of the fruit capsules in the spring, Sanguineum refers to the red shading that the leaves assume in the winter. The Royal Horticultural Society has given Sanguineum Alba their Award of Garden Merit for its reliable performance, for stability of colour and form and good resistance to pests and diseases. And also noted on the RHS plants for pollinators list. A low maintenance ground cover plant, good for under-planting at the front of the border, for best results where it will get plenty of sun although it will tolerate partial shade. In the wild it's found in sand dunes and on rocky slopes so unsurprisingly it dislikes overly moist soils and will do better in any well drained moderately fertile soil. Supplied as first grade loose root plants.

Growing at a glance…
To plant loose roots, soak them in a bucket of water for 1-2 hours before planting, then dig a hole in the border that’s big enough to house the root system. If planting in pots, fill a large pot halfway with potting soil and then pop the roots in with the crown pointing upwards and the root system pointing to the floor. Plant in a sunny position, firm in and water well.
