Product Description
Simply recognised as the best English cooking apple, Bramley trees produce an abundance of large green fruit flushed with red. Their crisp and sharp flavour make it a favourite when making juices, puree or a zingy cider. However, these apples are really in their element when cooked as their flavour becomes much sweeter making it the perfect choice for adding to dishes such as apple pie. The trees themselves are very hardy and generate beautiful white flowers from April to May attracting birds and butterflies into the garden. Once established, the fruit is then ripe for picking in October onwards. This is a self-sterile tree so will need a pollinator. We have chosen to sell only group B and C varieties, so our entire range of apples will cross pollinate with each other to help you easily choose a partner. Supplied as dwarf root stocks.

Growing at a glance…
Young trees must be watered thoroughly and sprinkle with fertilizer each spring. You can also mulch in April with rotted manure or compost around the base of the trunk. They should be planted in well sheltered locations. They will blossom and flower in Spring and fruit is normally ready to be picked throughout Autumn.Apple trees are suitable for planting in most types of moderately fertile, well drained soil, although they do not like acid soil. If possible prepare the ground some time in advance of planting. Open out holes and plant with enough space toaccommodate the roots without cramping them. Plant in a sunny location as they do not prosper too well in the shade. Make sure that you plant with a stake, as this will be needed for at least five years to help support the tree. Begin weed controlprior to planting and keep a clean ring around the plant (with a radius of approx 24inches).
