Rarely is a truer blue seen in nature than that of the Blue Himalayan Poppy or 'meconopsis betonicifolia'. Reminiscent of a traditional poppy in head shape, these striking perennials produce startling sky-blue blooms with a contrasting yellow centre and delicately bristled stems. Highly rewarding to grow, meconopsis betonicifolia is a popular choice for coastal gardens and thrives in cool, moist climes, but can equally flourish in warmer, drier environments with the correct care. Flowers can reach up to 8cm in diameter, and 90-120cm in height. Sure to create a head-turning display in the summer garden, the Himalayan Blue Poppy flowers between June and July. 9cm pot plants supplied.
